Hope Tree
Leading up to Easter the children wrote Lenten Promises. We decided after listening to the story of the Resurrection, Jesus coming back to life gave us great happiness and hope. As this is our last term the children wrote their own hopes for the future.

Rethink your Drink!
Year 5 found out about the amount of sugar in drinks. Using scales they measured out the sugar. They were shocked at how much sugar there was!

Greek Temple Exhibition
All the school came to look at our Greek Temple Exhibition. The teachers couldn't believe that the Year 5 children could make such realistic creations. Definitely architects and designers of the future!

Greek Food Tasting!

Triangles Problem.
Year 5 wanted to find out if Pythagoras was right that all triangles added up to 180 degrees. To prove this they drew different triangles and ripped them into three pieces. If they added to 180 degrees all the pieces would make a straight line.

Pythagoras - triangular numbers.
We found out that the Ancient Greek mathematicians believed that some numbers were beautiful or ugly, male or female. They also believed that numbers meant something. Year 5 found out about triangular numbers and looked for patterns, they also tried to find out if there was a formula that could…

Adding and Subtracting Decimals!
The children worked in pairs on this maths board game! Using the dice the children worked their way around the board adding and subtracting money amounts. The winner was the one with the most money at the end of the game!
