We have used different layers placed on top of each other to form sedimentary rock, tomorrow when it has set we can cut our rock out of the plastic glass and examine the layers.

Cave paintings

We learnt all about Stone Age cave paintings and had a go at creating our own. They looked fantastic!

We made some excellent predictions about the properties of rocks, and then conducted a number of experiments to test whether certain rocks were permeable, durable and high or low density. We certainly have some budding scientists in Year 3 !

Stone Age afternon

On Friday afternoon we covered our windows with cave paintings, and put our shutters down so our classroom was dark as we could get it. We then used the light box to pretend we were Stone Age people sat around our fire in a dark cave. We discussed what we would be eating and making.…
