Hi guys,
Hope you are all doing well! I really enjoyed catching up with your parents last week; I loved catching up with some of you guys as well and hearing all about what you have been up to! I was so impressed!!! It just reminded me what superstars you all are! I loved hearing how some of you are keeping in contact with each other by either writing letters, chatting on the phone or using Facetime. The class picture you have all created is fantastic, what a wonderful idea! I was really pleased to hear lots of you are still reading and practising your maths. Lots of you have been writing stories, doing science experiments, working out, baking, painting, going on bike rides, practising football skills, planting the list is endless! So many of you are using BBC Bitesize and Active Learn as well, well done! It is fantastic to know that some of you have tried some of the activities I have been suggesting on the blog. Remember it is important to try and get a little bit of work done, but remember to enjoy your time with your family and do things that make you happy and smile.
I have still been trying to work out and go for a few walks, especially because the weather has been so gorgeous. I've strung up some lights in my garden and have had some delicious BBQs. I planted some Forgot Me Nots in my garden and they look very pretty and colourful. My poor little car broke down on the way home from school on Friday; it was towed away to a garage and is currently being fixed.
Just a little reminder that Active Learn has new activities and games, I have included some maths as well as grammar and spelling games. The White Rose home learning, BBC Bitesize and Twinkl are great resources to get stuck in to. Why don’t you challenge yourself to write some sentences containing –
Nouns – person, place or thing (girl, dog, park)
Adjectives – describing words (beautiful, enormous, sparkling)
Verbs – action words (jumped, spoke, swam)
Adverbs – gives us more information about a verb (slowly, quickly, dramatically)
The athletic girl sprinted quickly around the race track.
My niece Georgia came up with a great idea last week which she found very fun and it kept her entertained for hours, thought I would share it with you guys. She created her own theme park by drawing a map of all the rides and attractions in the park. She included roller coasters, water rides, food stalls and much more! She labelled each part of her map and came up with her own theme park name. Why don't you guys have a go at becoming theme park designers, you could design racing roller coasters, twirling teacups or wild water rides. You could have a look at some theme park maps online for some ideas. Get inventive!
Keep well guys, I miss you all so much and I’m so proud of everything you have achieved so far. Your positive attitudes blew me away. Make sure you give your mums and dads a big cuddle for doing such a fantastic job as well!
Lots of love,
Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Heitzman xxx
