Hi again guys :)
Gosh week 5 ! Can you believe it ? I Thought I would put a picture of our classroom door on so we all don't forget what each other look like :) Hope you are all still keeping well and enjoying your time at home. What new things have you been doing this week? This week we have been having a 'bake off' with some neighbours in our street. So far we have had deliveries of ginger cookies, scones and chocolate orange fudge cake:) needless to say I enjoyed tasting them all :) We have baked some for them to enjoy too! My favourite to make was banana bread, so easy and so yummy :) Have you been doing any baking? This weeks home learning focus is 'food' maybe you could choose a new recipe you would like to try and ask a grown up to help you ? There are some quick and easy ideas here : https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/collections/10_easy_recipes_for_kids Don't forget to write instructions for your recipe too! Maybe you could even write a review after you have eaten it, like a food critic ? I would love to see some photos too so if you would like to you could ask your parent to send a photo to my school email address and I can put them on the blog for your classmates to see! I will put the email address on the letter to your parents on the blog.
Maybe you could choose your favourite food and write an acrostic poem about it? Have a look at this to remind you of some features of an acrostic poem first. https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/t2-e-998-recognise-some-different-forms-of-poetry-acrostics-teaching-powerpoint I'm sure you will come up with some great ones! One thing I am trying to do this week is make sure I am eating a healthy balanced diet ( and not too many baked goods:) Maybe you could help me by creating a poster about healthy eating and what a balanced diet is? I would love to see pictures too!
I have put a link on the parents letter for your maths learning this week from the white rose maths site, carry on with tt rockstars too, the leader board is close!
I am sure you have all seen the wonderful 'Captain Tom ' in the news who will be turning 100 years old at the end of this month! He has raised an incredible amount of money for the NHS ! Lots of people have been sending him birthday cards so Mia and Daisy are going to make one to send to him too, maybe you could do the same ? Imagine how pleased he will be :)
This week I will be phoning each one of you to speak with your parents and maybe have a chat with you ? Just to see how you are doing and to say hello because I miss you all so much! It would be lovely to hear your voices and catch up :)
I hope you all enjoy the rest of the week and I will see you all soon :)
Love and hugs as always
