Dear Parents/ Carers
I hope you are all well and enjoying having your little ones at home. I'm sure they will have shown you what wonderful learners they are and why I love teaching them so much! Home learning can be hard and I hope you take time for yourselves and make time to spend having fun as a family, being silly together and making memories!
Last week Mr Mountcastle put a few extra links on the home learning page of our school website. One of them was White Rose maths which has provided daily maths lessons for each year group. This looks good and it provides a worksheet to go with the lesson. I can see that many children have been using abacus maths and I have been setting 3-4 tasks per week for you to try to do at home. If you cannot remember your child’s username it will be their first name and initial of their surname with no spaces. Some of the usernames start with a capital letter and some do not. The password for everyone is fun and the school code is vdst. This alongside the home learning weekly tasks and Time Tables rock stars should be plenty to get on with. In terms of English, there will be many opportunities to write this week linked to Holy Week and the Easter story. Twinkl has free subscription at the moment and has some good powerpoints and activities about palm Sunday, the Last Super and Easter Sunday. The children could make a palm leaf and write a special prayer of hope. They could retell the Easter Story also.
A nice creative activity to do would be to make an Easter garden like the one shown here : https://www.pinterest.com/pin/277956608236387881/
Most importantly have a lovely Easter together
Thanks and take care
